Bishopton (Baile an Easbaig inside Scottish Gaelic) is a village around Renfrewshire, Scotland, a few miles west of Erskine.
Bishopton has the Bank, a Post Office, Pub, Hotel, Medical Centre, Library and other shops.

Bishopton sits a few miles from either a southern prevent of the Erskine Bridge, which spans the River Clyde between Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire. Section way along a B815 road occurs as computer factory; which was built in the late 1980s by Compaq Computers. Compaq merged by owning Hewlett-Packard in 2002. The chain ferry transported vehicles across a Flow of any stream Clyde prior to a bridge was built. A previous Ferry Master's home however lives on this side of the Clyde.
Bishopton is served per, double track, electrified, Inverclyde railway line, (former Caledonian Railway), Gourock and Wemyss Bay branches; with frequent traaround services in each directions. A ROF Bishopton railway sidings joined the railway line good west of Bishopton railway station; but it keep around been closed for a select few years.
The bus station lies adjacent to the railway station.
A A8 passes through Bishopton; & a M8 motorway runs parallel to the A8, with access to Bishopton from either each junctions 30 & 31.
The former ROF Bishopton site
The super big Explosive-manufacturing Royal Ordnance Factory, ROF Bishopton, was built in World War II on farm land, acquired by compulsory buy, on the other side of the railway line. Across 2,000 acres (3.Xxv square miles) of land from either as much as septet farms was utilized to build this manufactory. A land involved Dargavel Home, which however lives.
A ROF was privatised in 1984 and has now close.
When privatization a Ministry of Defence Police (MOD Police) moved out and a former
MOD Police Social Club at Holm Park, & its adjacent sports field, became a share of Bishopton. A previous MOD Police houses at two Holm Park & Rossland were sold murder to personal emptor.
Bishopton's Medical Centre was built around a corner of this sports field, opposite the shops.
BAE Systems the current owners of the ROF Bishopton places & Redrow Homes have submitted controversal proposals to use the big section of this page for building fresh housing. Whenever accepted this may, at least, double a size of Bishopton.
